electronic music

ぼくの電子音楽以外の作品、ピアノ、室内楽、オーケストラ、ジャズコンボ、ビッグバンド、ロックバンド、それらはいずれも電子音楽から影響を受けている。演奏の可否を前提にしない発想、響きの可能性の拡大、それらとそのシミュレーション過程が電子音楽によって支えられている。というわけでぼくの音楽から電子音楽的要素を完全に拭い去ることはできない。またそれはぼくの多岐にわたるスタイルの作品における唯一の共通項である。自分の作風の一端を担っているこのことに気づき、それを認めるまでに時間が掛かった。もっと早く気づいていれば、もう少し楽に創作を進めることができたかもしれない。それはそうとして、そんなわけでこのアルバムはぼくの発想の原形に接近し、それを楽しむことのできるアルバムであろう。

My works outside of electronic music — piano, chamber music, orchestra, jazz combo, big band, rock band — all have been influenced by electronic music. The idea of conceiving sound without regard to performability, the expansion of sonic possibility, and the process of simulating these — all are underpinned by electronic music. It is therefore impossible to completely strip my music of its electronic elements. And this is the one common thread running through my work across its many styles. It took me a long time to recognize this as a defining part of my musical identity and to come to terms with it. Had I realized it sooner, I might have found my creative path a little easier to navigate.Be that as it may, this album is one that approaches the very origin of my musical thinking — and I hope it can be enjoyed as such.
