▼ Themes ① Why are films with good music also good films themselves? ② What is the ideal use of pre-existing (licensed) music in film?

We'll likely explore this paradoxically — discussing films with good music but which aren't good films, films that are good but whose music isn't, and so on. We'll also talk about viewers' subjective preferences regarding films and film music, and how music can be effective for a film. The conversation will likely cover the use of pre-existing music in film scores along with examples, as well as the relationship between cinematic metaphor and music selection.
